Using tap water is of course fine as long as you have soft water. If you live in an area with hard (calcareous) water, we recommend that you use Steam Water.
Move the steamer in any direction. Upwards, downwards or to the sides, it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you press the steamer against the fabric.
This is an effective technique for removing creases on shirts, blouses, t-shirts and similar garments.
Wear the heat protecting glove/bag to remove the wrinkles on the bottom of the garment. When the bag is on your hand, you can press the fabric between your hand and the steamer. It won’t burn (but it might get a little sweaty after a while).
The glove is also useful for when you want to remove creases on collars, cuffs and other sewn details on shirts.
You can also steam garments horizontally. For instance on a table (place a towel underneath) or on your bed. Perfect for example creasing pants.
Easy peasy!!
And one final tip, dare to be lazy. Steam only the collars, cuffs and the bottom of the shirt if you’re going to wear it under a cardigan.
Not to shame the old sticky-tape-roller too much, but it’s really an ancient garment tool. First of all, it’s a disposable product. Second of all, even if the glue is good at catching lint and hairs, it always leaves residues of glue on the garment. As a result, your newly cleaned clothes become like a magnet for more stuff you definitely don’t want on your garments. The Lint Brush, one the other hand, is made from recycled ABS plastic. It’s a one-time purchase, a practical and stylish little device that you can easily carry with you on trips or in your everyday life. Questions? Needless to say, a Lint Brush is gentle and efficient on all kinds of fabrics.
The bristle is made of a polyester weave where all the tiny, tiny bristles are pointed in the same tilted direction. Thus, when moving the brush against the bristles, the bristle will lift and catch the lint, hair, dandruff, shallow dirt etc. After a while there will be remains of lint etc. on the bristle and then it’s time to twist the handle 2–3 times to clean the brush. The remains end up in the container inside the brush handle and can easily be emptied by a light push on the lid on top of the brush.
"Can I Use the Fabric Shaver on all fabrics?"
Short answer: Yes, you can.
The longer version … be careful and increase the pressure gradually. By gently trying a small part of the fabric you will easily find out if the material is on the too delicate side or not. Keep in mind, in our opinion no materials are too delicate for our product. A small doze of common sense will take you far – there is, of course, a limit to how big the pilling can be – a heavy rug may be too much even for the Pilo.
"Can I remove pilling from furniture?"
Definitely! Not just knits attracts pilling, so can cushions, armrests or blankets.
How to Use a Pilo
1. Make sure the Pilo has been cleaned properly, remove leftover lint and fuzz from the last time you used the machine.
2. Put your garment on a flat surface.
3. Press the On/Off button and start circling the areas with pilling carefully.
4. Increase pressure gradually.
5. If you’re working on a heavily pilled garment you need to check the container and empty it after a while (you normally feel and hear when the machine starts to run a little slower).
6. Ta-dah!
Clean Pilo Fabric Shaver
When you notice that the Pilo is working slow – or if it stops running even if the indicator lamp is green – the container is full. Time to clean!
Unscrew the plastic ring.
Remove the mouthpiece in perforated metal by gently lifting it off (be careful, underneath are sharp razors!). Use the brush to remove the razors. Careful!
Remove all fuzz.
The razors can be cleaned with the small brush.
Everything clean? No fuzz left anywhere? Then you'r done. Put the razor blades back and attach the mouthpiece and screw back the plastic ring. Now it's ready to be used again.
We strongly believe this device has a fair chance of entering your list of best friends. Good luck!
